Elmo Live is ready to shake up the toy world, and single-handedly change the way we interact with soft toys.
Check out this video to see a prototype of Elmo Live in action, and prepare to be amazed!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Elmo, he is a Muppet from the popular children’s television show, Sesame Street. Elmo is a loveable red monster with boggly eyes and an orange nose.
Over the years, there have been a number of Elmo-inspired toys. Back in 1996 Fisher-Price produced Tickle Me Elmo. When this furry friend was squeezed repeatedly he would shake and laugh hysterically. Tickle Me Elmo was a huge hit and became the must-have Christmas toy of ‘96.
Then there was Hokey Cokey Elmo, who performed the popular children’s song, complete with all the actions.
T.M.X. Elmo (Tickle Me Xtreme Elmo) was released in 2006 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the original toy. When tickled on his chin, tummy or foot, T.M.X. Elmo would roll around on the floor laughing, waving his arms around, and begging you to stop!
Elmo Live represents a huge technological step forward with more realistic speech and a wider range of movement. Elmo Live waves his arms, sits, stands, even crosses his legs, all while telling stories, cracking jokes, singing songs and playing games. Children can activate Elmo with a tickle or squeeze of Elmo’s tummy, back, nose or foot.
Expect to see Elmo Live in the shops from October, with a price tag of around £50 - £60. The toy is suitable for children (and adults) 18 months and up.
For those of us old enough to remember, it’s been 19 years since the Indiana Jones trilogy came to its conclusion with the Last Crusade. Whether you caught the movies at the cinema the first time around or if, like me, you were introduced to the adventures of Dr. Jones through Christmas Day showings on TV, the Indiana Jones trilogy has now reached legendary status.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finds Indy captured by the Soviets as they try to use Indy’s knowledge and expertise to discover the secrets behind the mysterious artefacts known as the crystal skulls.
Very little character development is required as, to be honest, we already know as much as we need to know about our hero. As a result the film flows swiftly from one action sequence to another, taking in a vast array of areas and locations.
We recently changed our logos - if you check out the homepage then you should notice that the Entertainer jack-in-the-box now features coloured juggling balls (like the store graphic). We would love to know your thoughts! Do you prefer the logo without, or do you like the extra colour?
We have also just changed our title logo from thetoyshop.com to TheToyShop.com. What do you think? Have the capitals made the website address easier to read? Let us know!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts and ideas! Remember, we want TheToyShop.com to be the ultimate online toyshop - and it’s your comments that will help us get there!
